Quality Control - The control dimension "X"
Resistance to pull and shear loads is dependent on the control dimension “X”, provided that the joining parameters and the service life of the tools have been observed.

TOX®-Clinching: Riveting without rivets!
TOX®-Clinching is a simple joining technique that does not require heat or additional elements. The Clinching process produces a button-type, positive connection of two or three layers of sheet metal using a cold-forming process. It uses the solid die cavity patented by TOX® PRESSOTECHNIK. Due to its cost effectiveness and reliability, TOX®-Clinching is highly regarded by the whole sheet metal working industry.
Clinching defines a joining process according to DIN 8593 of the production technology. With the clinching process sheet metals of different thicknesses or other materials, even with adhesives or other intermediate layers are joined in a cold forming process. In industrial applications clinching is being applied for single sheet thicknesses of 0.1 mm up to a total layer thickness of 12 mm / .47" and up to 800 N/mm2 / 5.7 lbf/in2 tensile strength.
TOX® PRESSOTECHNIK offers all the components needed for the Joining Technique: from technical support provided with the TOX®-Test Report, as far as complete turnkey plants. Many satisfied customers in the automobile, white goods and computer industries, as well as machine integrators confirm: "You can rely on TOX® PRESSOTECHNIK!"

The strength behind the TOX®-Joint
In the TOX®-Round Joint process, the material strain hardening in the neck area and the lacking of any notch effects produce the high retaining forces. This is the direct result of the fixed, rigid die. Static strength up to 70% of a spot weld, with positive strain hardening, without damage to the surface coating and typically more economical.
Fatigue strength under the most adverse conditions
Corrosion tests have shown that because the surface coating is not damaged during the round joint process, the anti-corrosive properties of the joined sheet metals, e.g., aluminized or galvanized, are maintained. The TOX®-joining does not cut the surface of the materials to be joined, as the coating flows with the material and remains intact.
Resistance to pull and shear loads is dependent on the control dimension “X”, provided that the joining parameters and the service life of the tools have been observed.
Economical - clinching is significantly more cost efficient than spot welding
Reliable - we guarantee joint strength values
Versatile - clinching is usable for numerous material combinations
Environmentally friendly - clinching is energy saving, clean and quiet
User oriented - technology and all production equipment comes from TOX® PRESSOTECHNIK
For many metal joinings, TOX®-Clinching is the optimal, most favourable and environmentally sound solution.
Stainless steel presents special requirements for forming processes. The required higher forming forces result in higher surface stresses on the joining tools. The TOX®-Joining Technology can be used safely and efficiently even for stainless steel applications. Continuous tool development and experience with many applications have resulted in high tool life.
